Par Tibi, Roma, Nihil at Foro Romano e Palatino, Rome

For centuries the Forum Romanum was the center of Roman public life. All around, statues and monuments commemorate some of the city’s greatest men: political speeches, religious ceremonies, commercial affairs and gladiatorial matches took place in this incredible area.
This archeological site extends from the Palatine Hill to the Capitoline Hill and it includes temples, statues, monuments and other ancient buildings. This is the awesome frame where Par Tibi, Roma, Nihil (“As you Rome, nothing”, a quote from Hildebert of Lavardin) takes place. A display of artworks and performances featuring international artists, curated by Raffaella Frascarelli, aims to guide visitors on a journey through ancient heritage and contemporary art. A powerful dialogue between the history of Rome and its ever-changing identity.

The exhibition includes three site specific project by Kader Attia, Daniel Buren and Sislej Xhafa, and performance by Nico Vascellari and Emiliano Maggi. Other artists on show include works by Meris Angioletti, Francesco Arena, Elisabetta Benassi, Giorgio Andreotta Calò, Loris Cecchini, Isabelle Cornaro, Michael Dean, Giulio Delvé, Maria Adele Del Vecchio, Gabriele De Santis, Tomaso De Luca, Flavio Favelli, Piero Golia, Petrit Halilaj, David Horvitz, Kapwani Kiwanga, Jannis Kounellis, Marko Lulić, Masbedo, Michal Rovner, Rosalind Nashashibi, Valerio Rocco Orlando, Alessandro Piangiamore, Gianni Politi, Marinella Senatore, Sissi, Pascale Marthine Tayou, Adrian Tranquilli, Tris Vonna Michell, Guido van der Werve and Chen Zhen.
