Press release

Operativa is thrilled to present the first solo show in Rome by Bea Bonafini, Twin Waves ≈ Onde Gemelle, a new body of work interweaving engraved cork, tapestry, drawing, ceramic and sound. The show introduces a fragmented cosmos of fluid metamorphoses, where human and non-human boundaries melt, multiply and collide.

Bonafini is an Italian artist living between Rome and London. Her practice is informed by a continuous experimentation with materials and craftsmanship, often taking form through mixed media and references. Her work spans from sculpture to installations, combining historic iconography with modern pictorial traditions in a sensuous yet intimate immediacy.

The works on display were conceived in Rome on the occasion of the fellowship residency Abbey Scholar at the British School (BSR).
