Del Mero Essere it could be the title of a poem to reveal an existential landscape. The first idea that Gabriele Silli's new body of work may conceal a philosophical investigation into the origin and the position of the man into the Universe, once we enter the gallery is immediately translated in a question forcing the viewer to wonder in which terms we have to interpret the expression "to be". Without doubts, what stands out in front of the viewer is a cumbersome and indefinable “animal", halfway between a fearsome presence from a fiction and a seductive fossil of an ancestral botanical Era.

Brutal and outspoken, at the same time fascinating and ambiguous, Senza titolo (2019), the environmental sculpture by Gabriele Silli manifests itself as a shameless organic element, intent on revealing itself in its physical appearance rather than narrative nature. Despite the references to a shape that seems to tell us a mythological time Il Mero Essere bring us to another story.

For her first exhibition in France, Wu Tsang has transformed Lafayette Anticipations into a hybrid space that summons the worlds of the night and the sacred. Through this metamorphosis, the visitor is immersed in a mysterious atmosphere where recent and earlier works by the American artist are brought together.
