Indipendenza is hosting Now and Then..., Marc Camille Chaimowicz’s first exhibition in Rome since his stay at the British School in Rome 1998, on view until September 10. Tailored for the different rooms of the exhibition space, the show was conceived with curator Eva Svennung as a journey through different aspects and moments of the artist’s work. Prompted by the specific exhibition environment which Indipendenza induces, older pieces enter into dialogue with current proposals. Fluidity and openness characterize the projects on show, as embodied by the work The Small Vehicles of Rome (1998) – openness to various possible “devenirs” according to the artist’s habit of reshuffling situations. An approach that prevents the works from being encapsulated and narrowed down, prolonging instead a timeless sense of suspension and reverie. Now and Then... features works by Becky Beasley, Clémence Joly and Marie Charlotte Urena.

For her first exhibition in France, Wu Tsang has transformed Lafayette Anticipations into a hybrid space that summons the worlds of the night and the sacred. Through this metamorphosis, the visitor is immersed in a mysterious atmosphere where recent and earlier works by the American artist are brought together.
