In the late 1980s, in Great Britain, Margaret Thatcher’s government introduced the first restrictive law for the homosexual community after one hundred years: Section 28. More specifically, going against neighboring countries, on May 24, 1988, Section 28 of the Local Government Act was enacted, stating that a local authority “shall not intentionally promote homosexuality or publish material with the intention of promoting homosexuality.” Nor would it be possible to “promote the teaching in any maintained school of the acceptability of homosexuality as a pretended family relationship”
