‘Orizzonte’ examines the landscape and its geopolitical involvement, also in relation to personal and collective memories.

Six Horizons, Six Roads, Ten Landscapes’ has been published on the occasion of Francesco Arena’s participation in Art | Basel Unlimited 2017 with the work ‘Orizzonte’, presented by Galleria Raffaella Cortese, Milan and Sprovieri, London.
In this new book time and space, which are fundamental aspects of Arena’s work, are encapsulated in six horizons, six roads and ten landscapes. Essays by Mario Fortunato and Andrea Viliani, together with statements written by Arena himself on each work here published, examine in-depth the practice of one of the most interesting artists in the Italian and International artistic scenes.
Providing clear explanations and interpretation keys, this publication helps contextualize Arena’s research in a new critical and broader way; it has been preceded by “Masse Sepolte”, launched on the occasion of the artist’s participation in the 55° Biennale di Venezia, Italian Pavilion (2013) and “Francesco Arena. Works 2004-2014” (2014) both published by CURA.
