For the seventh appointment with The Art Room – the format conceived by CURA. X Soho House Rome introducing key artists of the digital culture of contemporary field – CURA. welcomes SAGG Napoli in conversation with Luca Lo Pinto.
Premiering some key aspects of the performance held to be staged at Basement Roma within her solo show Sempre contratta, SAGG Napoli talks about the relationship between body and mind, trigger points and pain, and the central role of sport which she practices as a professional in the discipline of archery.
SAGG Napoli’s work fuses an international attitude and communication with environments and situations peculiar to her city of origin, achieving a transcending of stereotypes related to femininity and, more generally, to gender representation, including through a relationship between collective instances and personal experiences. She uses different media and languages, in which the presence and use of the body remains constant, and the creation of a social profile on Instagram that the artist builds in progress, as an integral part of her creative research. SAGG Napoli’s projects are rooted in short-circuits where art, fashion, advertising and sports are mixed, areas that make her projects projected in a strongly communicative dimension, capable of approaching a heterogeneous audience.
