The Library Station Redux (2026) is a display conceived by artist Can Altay for CURA. 47: Artist + Artist.

Dedicated to bringing people and publications together, it consists of a series of wooden planks and chairs arranged into bridges, shelves, stacks, and connections, creating an extensive relational framework in which artistic practices intersect, critical thinking is nurtured, and collective discourse unfolds through ongoing negotiation and exchange.

Conceived in the wake of the earlier project The Dreamers Library Station (Basement Roma, 2022), The Library Station Redux invites visitors to linger, spend time, and inhabit the space. The possibility of exchange and coexistence between people and things is central to the project, reflecting the spirit of the issue.

Artist + Artist is founded on an interwoven dialogue—both generational and intergenerational—among international artists. Dialogue is understood as a necessary condition for inhabiting space and time: a realm shaped by alliances, shared possibilities, opacities, and conflicts. Through this exchange, artists create an expansive space of resonance that activates new possibilities of meaning and generates folds and points of contact, where artistic thought takes shape both individually and collectively.

Through narrative devices and spatial tools, Can Altay (Ankara, Turkey, 1974) creates settings that function as sites of collective production, open to shared use. His work has been exhibited at institutions including the Walker Art Center, MoMA PS1, ZKM, MAXXI, Van Abbemuseum, and SALT. His solo exhibitions have been presented in Bolzano, Istanbul, Utrecht, London, Berlin, and Bristol.
